I was looking for a comfortable shoe that had the look of cute flats. I really like the mary jane strap, because I find I often slip out of regular flats when I am doing a lot of walking in them. These stay on great. Also, I have found most flats to be too narrow for me across the forefoot. I ordered the black and gold because they came in wide (I wish all the colors did) and I have no uncomfortable rubbing on either side of the forefoot.
