I think it can be worn for almost any occasion. It is the most comfortable shoe I own and so light-weight. They're great to pack for vacations. I have my sister-in-law hooked on them now. I read the other reviews and bought a half-size smaller than usual and it still feels loose, but the shoe bed is very comfortable. I also wanted shoes that would look good with slacks, skirts, and cropped pants. These shoes fit the bill in all aspects. The only problem is that they do run on the large side. Also, the little nubs on the inside sole rubbed a blister on the ball of my foot, but this was after I spent a full day of walking in them. I think this probably would not have happened if the shoe fit better. At first I purchased the 8 1/2. I should have listened to the reviews which said to order a 1/2 size smaller. But what I really loved was how easy it was to return them and reorder. I now have the size 8 which fit very well. I really have to give Zappos thumbs up for making it so easy and convenient. My only criticism is that the straps are a bit loose like some other reviewers said, but not so loose that I don't like wearing them. I've worn them with capris, with shorts, and with skirts and they are very cute. Be forewarned, they do run big. I normally wear 8.5 and ordered an 8. Could actually have ordered a half size smaller yet. Not often can I take shoes out of the box, wear all day, and not feel like getting them off and putting my feet up in order to recover, but I have no complaints. However, I was disappointed in the comfort of the straps and the shape of the footbed. If they had been less $, I probably would have kept them, but for the $, I didn't feel I got my money's worth, so I'm sending them back. I usually wear a 7 (or so) so I ordered a 6 1/2 based on other reviews. The length was fine, if not a tad bit short, but the straps didn't hug my narrow feet enough to keep them stable in the shoe. I was looking for a shoe that would handle a lot of walking, but still look classy. I ordered the brown and thought it looked awesome on the site, but it doesn't look as good in person. Somehow, it looks more like something to wear at the beach than around town. It's fairly comfortable. Not enough support for walking on uneven surfaces, but plenty for ordinary sidewalks. I marked it down a star though because the straps have been chafing my little toes a bit because the strap in back isn't adjustable. The shoe fits perfectly on my right foot, but is a little loose on my (smaller) left. Overall, a good shoe and one I'll wear often because it's comfortable and reasonably attractive. I usually wear a 7.5 and my feet are on the narrow side of average. I normally wear a size 8 shoe, but got a 7.5 based on the reviews and they fit perfectly. I have a bunion on my left foot and wasn't sure if I wanted to wear sandals that exposed that flaw, but to be honest, once I put the sandal on, the comfort was evident. I didn't have to worry about my bunion because the straps covered it. I bought the black patent leather pair and can use them whether I am dressed up or dressed casual. I wear a size 6 and ordered a 5.5 after reading reviews here. I don't usually order wide widths, but I do have a wider foot.
